The second "Natural Orifice Endoscopy Course," organized by The One Medical in collaboration with YU-KIRIN Technology Trading Co., Ltd., Flying Wings International Co., Ltd., and Chan Yih Trading Co., Ltd., was successfully held at the Boss center in Kaohsiung again. This course once again invites Dr. Li-Han Hsu as the lecturer, providing in-depth theoretical explanations and demonstrating the practical techniques of endoscopy. His guidance allows participants to gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience. During the course, Dr. Hsu also shared practical tips on selecting endoscopes. For example, when performing retrograde rhinoscopy on large dogs weighing over 8 kg, he highlighted the differences in turning radius between endoscopes with an outer diameter of 2.8mm and 4.8mm. He recommended using a 4.8mm flexible endoscope to more effectively examine the soft palate area, improving diagnostic accuracy and ease of operation. For the hands-on training session, we prepared stillborn lambs, halved sheep heads, pig stomachs, and pig esophagi for participants to practice on. Dr. Hsu first demonstrated various endoscopic techniques, including using a gastroscope with the All-in-One processor to examine a pig’s stomach, an AK esophageal rigid electronic endoscope foreign body forceps to explore the lamb’s esophagus, a reusable 2.8mm endoscope to examine the larynx, esophagus, and down to the tracheal bronchi, and a multipurpose rigid electronic endoscope to inspect the sheep’s ear canal and nasal cavity. Seeing the participants’ eager and excited expressions, I am confident that this course has provided them with valuable knowledge and inspiration! During today's session, a participant asked whether there is a smaller electronic endoscope suitable for transurethral cystoscopy. We are currently developing a waterproof electronic endoscope with an outer diameter of just 1.5mm, designed to be used with a 12.1 inch monitor. In the future, this innovative product will enable broader applications, providing a more precise and convenient experience for clinical examinations! A big thank you to all the veterinarians who took the time to attend today’s session, as well as to our distributor, Yulin Technology, for their efforts in preparing the animal specimens and desserts. See you at our next course on 1st March !
