The donation of IntuVu devices to Chi Mei Medical Center aims to enhance patient care and medical training by providing advanced, real-time imaging tools for critical intubation procedures.
On March 5th, 2024, a significant contribution was made to the Department of Emergency Medicine and Clinical Competency Center at Chi Mei Medical Center with the donation of one set of the "IntuVu Video Laryngoscope" and two sets of the "IntuVu Video Stylet." This donation aligns with our commitment to giving back to society by equipping medical professionals with cutting-edge tools that enhance patient care.
Unlike traditional laryngoscopes, the IntuVu devices provide real-time imaging during intubation, addressing the challenges of difficult intubations where visibility of the glottis is crucial. The 3.5-inch screen, with its million-pixel resolution, ensures that relevant structures are clearly displayed, thereby increasing the success rate of intubation and reducing the likelihood of complications during surgery.
In an educational context, the video capabilities of the IntuVu devices offer invaluable support for instructors, making it easier to demonstrate respiratory tract structures to students. This visual aid not only accelerates learning but also allows nursing staff to assist more effectively and accurately during actual procedures, compared to traditional laryngoscopes.
The donated equipment also includes various sizes of disposable blades, which are designed to help healthcare professionals accurately place breathing tubes into the trachea.
